Night Light is the latest feature that is added in the Windows 10 creators update. This Night Light feature is helpful for the users who spend a lot of time with their computers, especially during the night times. In this post, I am going to tell you how to enable night mode in Windows 10.

Many pieces of research have shown that the blue light that is emitted from you PC, Laptop or your smartphone screen influences levels of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin thereby meddling your sleep-wake cycle.

Say, thanks to the Windows 10 creators update that comes with a built-in way to adjust your screen’s color temperature. Now, you can just turn on the Night Light mode and sleep better following a late-night computer sitting.

Steps to activate night mode in Windows 10

1. Make sure you have updated to latest Windows 10 creators edition.

2. Go to start > Windows Settings > System > Display. On the right side, you can see the Night Light Slider.

3. By Default, the Night Light mode activates between sunset and sunrise. You can also instantly enable the Night Light Mode.

4. To enable the Night mode instantly or to change the color temperature, click on the Night Light Settings.

Steps to Adjust Color Temperature (Night Light Mode – Windows 10)

In the Night Light settings screen, you can also change the color of your Laptop/PC screen in Night Mode. Drag the slide to the left, redder your screen will become. Drag the slider to the right, and less blue light will be restricted.

If you are using your laptop, Tablet or PC during the Late night or you are sleep deprived person, it is better to limit the blue light and make your display redder.

You can also customize the working hours of the Night light mode. By default, the Night light mode will be enabled between sunset and sunrise.

In the Night Light Settings screen, enable the Schedule night light option. Now, you can set when you want to turn on and turn off the night mode.

According to a Harvard research, Red light has the least power to suppress melatonin. So, It is better to enable Night Light mode and redden your screen so you can fell asleep easily after late night computer session.
